Car-Free Cambridge

Traffic congestion in Cambridge is horrible for everyone. Locals, and particularly children and the elderly, suffer because of pollution and poor air quality from petrol and diesel engines. Workers and businesses waste many hours because of the serious congestion.

We are therefore supporting a range of campaigns, aiming to explore and demonstrate the feasibility of Cambridge becoming “Car Free”

These include

• The idea of a Car Free Day in Cambridge
• The campaign for car free streets around schools, led by CamCycle
• The call for Swiss style integrated comprehensive public buses, achieved though franchising and multi operator ticketing, led by Smarter Cambridge Transport.
