This figure shows the change in production-based CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions for the constituent parts of the Combined Authority from 2005-2017. The chart was compiled from the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) annual statistics on Carbon Dioxide Emissions by Local Authority.

The current rate of decarbonisation averaged across the Combined Authority is ca. 2.2% per annum. At this rate it would take about another three decades to half emissions. This emission trend is completely at odds with stated carbon reduction targets of constituent councils.
